Management of Major Insect Pests of Tomato using Multiple Resistant Tomato Hybrid Arka Rakshak

An attempt was made to demonstrate multiple resistant tomato hybrid Arka Rakshak for resistance against fruit borer and fungal diseases in field. Crop damage caused by borer, whitefly thrips measured on the basis of damaged fruits, leaves separately. In order assess per cent damage, fruits five randomly selected tagged plants were counted as total available observed plants. Evaluation host plant using major insect pests conducted during Kharif season 2015 - 16 10 farmers field at Karumandurai village Salem district. The pretreatment count leaf curl infection /plant ranged from 5.64 6.22. 3.22 12.92 cent, 6.86 16.32 7.82 24.62 vegetative, flowering fruiting stage respectively. yield worked out baed healthy harvested. economics Rakshak, variety sivam untreated control computed current labour cost, cost inputs average market rate fruits.
